NTS HIGH SCHOOL ARTISTS PROGRAM
Under the Direction of Miss Emily Urbanski

High School Artists is a new program designed for high school students who are experienced and dedicated to performing. It aims to provide a platform for young artists to unleash their creativity and explore their passion for theater in a supportive and nurturing environment. In this class, students will hone their audition skills, learn about significant musical theater history, and grow as well rounded performers. In this program, young performers will build confidence and skill sets for all their future performing endeavors. From acting to directing, from studying theater to writing shows, High School Artists offers a comprehensive curriculum that fosters growth, development, and learning in all aspects of theater.

HSA will present a showcase in April that will be written, directed and choreographed by the students. HSA students are also eligible to attend JTF in January. All High School Artists are required to enroll in a weekly dance class at NTS or other approved program and are strongly encouraged to audition for NTS’s MainStage Musical.

HSA meets on Sundays from 3:00-5:00. Please note that HSA is a year long commitment and will meet from August-May. 
Tuition: $200 / Month (August - May)

2024-2025 AUDITIONS

Auditions for 2024-2025 High School Artists will be held on Sunday, May 19th. Please bring a recent headshot and updated resume.

DANCE CALL (choose one)
12:30-1:15PM Level 1 PC / HSA Dance Call (For students with less than 2 years Ballet Training)
1:15PM - 2:15PM Level 2 PC / HSA Dance Call (For students with more than 2 years Ballet Training)
Dancers should wear a leotard with dance shorts or leggings over the leotard.  Hair should be pulled back.  Ballet or jazz shoes.

SINGING CALL 4:00-5:30
Students should prepare two 32 bar cuts, one of which must be a musical theater song. Bring sheet music in a binder, marked with your cut in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.

All HSA Students are required to attend Sunday Ballet (2:30-3:30) and Thursday Dance Technique (TBD) in addition to their Sunday HSA Class Time 3:30-5:30.
